How to apply Chalk Paint™ White Wax:

Over Chalk Paint™ (to lighten colors):

1. Seal first with Clear Wax – apply a coat of Clear Chalk Paint™ Wax and leave to dry for 1 hour
2. Apply the White Wax – use a Wax Brush and work in small areas
3. Work gently – spread the wax evenly
4. Remove the excess – use a clean cloth to control the intensity of the lightening effect
5. Leave to dry – wait 1 hour before applying additional coats if you want greater lightening

On unvarnished wood (limed oak effect):

1. Apply directly – to clean, unvarnished wood
2. Work in the direction of the grain – for a natural finish
3. Remove the excess – leave the wax in the pores for a whitewashed effect
4. Buff after 24 hours – for a smooth, luminous finish

Techniques with White Wax:

Subtle lightening: Apply a small amount to dark colors to soften them slightly.

Whitewashed effect: Apply generously to create an intense whitewashed finish.

Mix with Clear Wax: Combine both waxes for a softer, more controlled lightening tone.

Highlight raised details: Apply only to raised areas of moldings for a dimensional effect.

Ideal colors to combine with White Wax:

It works especially well with medium and dark tones such as Graphite, French Linen, Aubusson Blue, Provence, and Barcelona Orange to soften them and create luminous vintage effects.

Care and maintenance:

• Daily cleaning – use a damp cloth
• Stubborn stains – use a gentle spray cleaner and rewax
• Maintenance – reapply wax every 1-2 years depending on use
