How to apply Chalk Paint™ Dark Wax:

1. First seal with Clear Wax – apply a coat of Clear Chalk Paint™ Wax and let dry for 1 hour
2. Apply the Dark Wax – use a Wax Brush and work in small areas
3. Work in cracks and details – push the wax into moldings, corners and textures
4. Remove the excess – with a clean cloth, remove the wax from the flat surfaces
5. Leave the wax on details – keep the dark wax in crevices for an aged effect
6. Seal with Clear Wax (optional) – apply a final coat of Clear Wax to soften the effect

Dark Wax Techniques:

Subtle aging effect: Apply a small amount and remove almost all, leaving only in deep cracks.

Intense aged effect: Apply generously and leave more wax on surfaces before removing.

Dark wash effect: Mix Dark Wax with Light Wax for a softer, more diffused tone.

Highlight carvings: Apply only to moldings and carved details to make them stand out.

Ideal colors to combine with Dark Wax:

It works especially well with light shades like Old White, Original, Cream, Duck Egg Blue, Antoinette and all pastel shades of Chalk Paint™ to create vintage contrast.

• Daily cleaning – use a damp cloth
• Tough stains – gentle spray cleaner
• Maintenance – reapply wax every 1-2 years depending on use
