How to apply Chalk Paint™ Dark Wax:

1. Seal first with Clear Wax – apply a coat of Clear Chalk Paint™ Wax and let it dry for 1 hour
2. Apply the Dark Wax – use a Wax Brush and work in small areas
3. Work into cracks and details – push the wax into mouldings, corners, and textures
4. Remove the excess – use a clean cloth to remove the wax from flat surfaces
5. Leave the wax in the details – keep the dark wax in cracks for the aged effect
6. Seal with Clear Wax (optional) – apply a final coat of Clear Wax to soften the effect

Techniques with Dark Wax:

Subtle aged effect: Apply a small amount and remove almost all of it, leaving wax only in deep cracks.

Intense aged effect: Apply generously and leave more wax on the surfaces before removing it.

Dark washed effect: Mix Dark Wax with Clear Wax for a softer, more blended tone.

Highlighting carvings: Apply only to mouldings and carved details to make them stand out.

Ideal colours to combine with Dark Wax:

It works especially well with light shades such as Old White, Original, Cream, Duck Egg Blue, Antoinette, and all Chalk Paint™ pastel shades to create vintage contrast.

Care and maintenance:

• Daily cleaning – use a damp cloth
• Stubborn stains – mild spray cleaner
• Maintenance – reapply wax every 1-2 years depending on use

For interior use only. Chalk Paint™ Wax is not suitable for exterior use. For outdoor projects, use Chalk Paint™ Lacquer.
