Does it need a final protective finish?

Applying a protective finish is not mandatory. You can leave Alchemy unsealed to preserve its ultra-matte appearance. However, for heavily used furniture or pieces exposed to water, stains, or frequent cleaning, protection with wax or a compatible top coat is recommended.
